OK mensen, op veler verzoek ga ik deze zooi in 2 tables hakken,
1 nederlandstalige en 1 engelstalig (of amerikaans eigenlijk).
Maar nu nog niet, want ik moet dinsdag en woensdag een (audio)CD
masteren, ja bij mij thuis ja, en daarvoor moet ik nog van alles doen,
sorry. Maybe later, ter ontspanning, meer.

Hi,

I just read your comments on internetgossip.com and I was really impressed.
I've also put the text of that letter from an Afghan writer on my site,
and I was happy to see your allusions to the incredible waste we create
and perpetuate.  I am American, born and raised, and sometimes I am proud
of my country.  When I hear about the way we sanction atrocities
to people all over the world, however, I am ashamed.

I have been vegetarian for 6 years because of the very reasons you give
in your comment.  I learned how much grain it takes to feed one cow
and how many people could eat from that.  I know that thousands and
thousands of children starve to death in this world.  I know there are
other factors, socio-economic and political, that determine how resources
are used, but I know that I do not want to be part of the greed
and exploitation that our country seems to be founded on.

I live on the west coast of the United States, in Venice Beach,
and I love it here.  I love the diversity and the open-mindedness
and the mix of cultures.  I know we are humane and compassionate.
This last week I have seen an extraordinary expression of hope
and generosity.  I only wish this spirit would stay with us
all the time, and that we were just a little less blind
to the sins of our leaders.

Anyway, thank you.  I was really glad to read your words.
