OK, I now have piles of email to respond to, some TV to watch, Bought a FUJI digital camera last week, mostly because of its extreme low pricetag in the store where I found it. Wrote a personal review about the camera too by the way. Also learned never to buy batteries from the Albert Cuyp market ever again. But anyway, you'll see a lot more pictures online because of this cam, hopefully it will spice up the site a bit. More video, more audio, and maybe even a webcam online soon. I think it's interesting to see how far I would go here. I notice that I still leave some important things out.
If you ask me, Microsoft has really completely gone crazy now. Got mail from Ben about our submission for the CeeJay remix contest. Our version ends up being one of the 7 best he will eventually pick (at least) 1 out of. If our version will be released, it's definitely one of the coolest music-related things I've been involved with in my life. Someone tried to steal my bike when I was at work in the Vondelstraat, but co-workers Bianca and Jaap saw it happen and warned me, so I ran outside, was quick enough to catch the dude with my bike in his hands 40 meters from where I had parked it. Didn't call the police or anything, didn't even knock him down. Don't think either of those would have done any good. He looked like he was the son of a bike store owner. I yelled at him, cursed him, called him names and he will undoubtedly still have nightmares about what happened, even though he looked real stupid and careless to me. Did you know that in the NL more 'third parties' have intercepted our e-mail, fax, telex, and telephone communications (the past year) than in the entire US? So, it seems the law in this country has all clearance to tap into our internet-activities, hey, let's all start using encoding and steganography more seriously! This will be a nightmare for the government, and putting a tap on your line is useless that way. At these times of meat-misery, some humour is in place. For some useless bad animal killing, go to www.killfrog.com, some of the stories and sounds are actually funny. The way they hate cats is pretty cruel and it's a pity about the annoying banners, but I must admit I laughed out loud many times here. The time they must have put into all that is the funniest part, I guess... Had kind of a shitty weekend with way too much things to do at home, not enough time to sleep, not enough love and hardly any communication with real-life people at all :-] OK, this page is getting more and more hits each day. Cool. Seems I'm not writing this for nothing, or maybe I am (this link is a joke, by the way, not me trying to tell you I want to die or something). I've just added this page to the Webloggers and JournalDomain rings.. Been putting out the garbage-bags just now, my steps reverbed in the silent street in the center of a city that pretends to never sleep. What a scam, they're all asleep. I can feel it on the net, I'm all alone out here ;-) things are a blast when you're online at those times, speeds go up like you wouldn't believe. Saw 'Hollow Man' the other day, the movie with Kevin Bacon, and there's a cool line in it that I like to remember: "Are you mad at me because you don't have a life, or because I do?" or something like that.. (shit, should have written it down). Anyway, it's a movie which is more violent than I thought it would be, more violent and harder than necessary in my opinion. It starts out OK, but then all of a sudden it de-rails into unrealistic bevahior of some of the characters. Good special fx though. There are some people that still believe in greenhouse effects and global warming, and hell do we need some global warming over here! Yesterday must have been the coldest good friday of my entire life! I've been getting strange phonecalls lately, I know who's on the other end of the line, and I also know the problems involved, so I know what the phonecalls mean. Won't say more about it here because too many are reading this. See this for a laugh, hun. The knowledge has been slumbering for a long time, but today I've discovered that I'm clairvoyant for real, that I do have some telepathic gifts, that in some cases I can predict what's gonna happen in the near future. I was often able to think "shit, how did I know that?" and knew there was something more to it, but I'm now learning how to tap into these gifts, I start to see where they lie and when I know it's another one of those things that is just too much of a coincidence. To be more precise: The interaction with people and things, events and any other various phenomenon is only the physical manifestation of events that have already taken place on a much higher-level, things I've often seen somewhere before, and sometimes really recent and vivid. I'm probably old enough to now locate my consciousness of these things. And I'm not kidding, even. Think you should know that I can send emails from my home IP-address without even being there. The miracle here is called VNC, which imho is the best of all remote controlling software. Many still ask me how I do that, now you know. Here some things that are funnier. april 9 2001It's funny to see what becomes of some stupid people when they get to have an internet connection. It goes in phases, as soon as they're lonely and bored they go annoy those on the net they're afraid of. You can almost feel them think: "oh shit, he knows more about it than I do, he must be having more or better sex than I do, let's annoy and hate this guy!". So you feel like being a rich banker visiting some red-neck fist-fight saloon everytime you're in usenet these days. They start sending you e-mail about things they think you might have done wrong, they spend sickening amounts of time researching who you are and desperately try to find a weak spot, they e-mail your provider about every little thing remotely close to 'abuse'. Yeah, all too often the messages about abuse are the actual abuse, school-yard politics basically, like telling the teacher about a funny harmless prank you pulled on someone, usually pathetic insignificant things like a complaint about me doing a cancel for somebody else's message in a newsgroup I created. By the way, since when is a simple port-scan forbidden by law? Geez they're so scared you might 'hack into their system' that they simply want you down and depressed as soon as possible. Well, have I got news for you; It doesn't work on me, I feel to be above that, idiots ;-) Another thing I don't get: We have like 3 million people that don't have a job in this country, yet still those who do have jobs are forced to (or want to) work more than 32 hours a week? Hey, sorry, but that's just insane! Let's all work less, (maybe!) make a little less, have more free time, be happier with life and don't get sick or breakdown or have RSI or whatever early in life. Split the money and divide the jobs over more people and everything will be better. 8 april 2001Sunday night, some time left in between TV and Music, so here we go. First some tech- and web-talk: Quite a heavy decision had to be made, it was either dhtml and css or not, so I now officially say "beat it" to Netscape users that don't use Version 6. Hey, look at the menu above, it's cool, easy for me, and I'm not gonna break down my site (again) because people refuse to upgrade their browser. I've had it with adapting to incapable browsers, and yeah, sure I hope the world will stick with this new standard for a long time! A good friend from the US emailed me some interesting links involving that bad habit many of you still think is not that bad. Interesting material, even if you don't smoke! Just like the LEGO porn I bumped into last week. Talk about sick people! 05-04-2001
Weird, this stuff has only been up for a couple of days and already people respond in their usual "YOU'RE A FREAK!" manner. Hey, now that you've established I'm a total freak, try live with it and don't bother me with your problems, OK? Look around on the web, it's completely full of sites like this. I once wrote this for people like you, read it. Been to the movies with Sander, to see Gladiator. I can see why The Academy liked it so much. Spotted Esther J. in de Balie, had dinner in Palladium and forgot to tip the waiter there. Hey, no wonder, it's already been a week since M. has left me, with nothing but questions ;-) Also a week since I've last looked in the eyes of Geertje. Just one look by either of those and it's too late to survive. The more I think about it, the more I know that talking has ruined it all, we should just make love in some hotel every now and then, and don't speak about anything else. Perhaps that's the secret to a successful relationship? I really think this is the best option available within a relationship these days. Yesterday I discovered that there's some website out there by someone called "jult" and it's all about masturbation! Let it be known that this site is not related to me in any way, even though it is quite interesting. Great news from XS4ALL; the Cisco SSG NAT is gonna leave my DSL. Not only will that speed up this server's connection, it will also be a lot more fun to run this server with FreeBSD from then on. 30-03-2001Now I just want to place some compliments to Ari and Eugene (and all other obscure net-people like me) realizing that crazy bandwidth and superb content of DigitallyImported.com; Now probably the most idealistic project on the entire internet, funded by listeners and sheer music-lovers! Became The Number One radio-stream within 1 year of existence. Really an amazing story, read it here. Been with them ever since the start, and feel very happy for Ari it worked out like this. If only this planet had some more people like that around, it would be so much better to be alive today! Also technically DI is a superior project in every way, the sound-processing and the routing are some pieces of work, I kid you not! There are 2 different DI stations now. One of them is the cheesiest on the web; Tune In (a really fast one for Amsterdam, getting in through Level3 backbone). 28-03-2001Today I had to move around and edit over 32 Nedstat scripts (not only those of my own pages) to get them to work with their new system. I don't like the new dark layout at all. Who needs those fancy graphics and tiny links like that? I only want to know who visited the page at what time and where he/she came from, and preferably all on one page. Also their pages now don't even open sometimes, probably the whole world is changing their nedstats. Also busy with shit for taxes, I'm way past my date and still post-poning to fill-in the stupid tax-forms. I hate the tax-system, it's so retarded. Nobody wants it. Why don't they cut the crap and do their own shitty job? It seems to me they already know *exactly* what you make and what you do with your money anyways, why the need to spell it out for them? Is it because half a zillion work-hours can be payed to idiot tax people this way or what? Useless shit I don't have time for. Then my mother was on my voicemail today, she always manages to go beyond the available sample time. It's strange how other people tend to think I want to celebrate my birthday, while hey: What's there to celebrate? More wrinkles? Less time left on this planet? Anyway, they all invited themselves over to my place. I don't think I have enough places for them to sit in here :-) Why don't they all just leave me alone and let me get old by myself? ;-) 27-03-2001
I've been busy making this the starting point for all online material by/with/about me. As always, with things I'm working on, it's not finished but released already anyway, so you can look with me, see the changes in the menu above and go with my flow ;) ( This is - of course - just one of those typical jult excuses ) |
Yours truly
